A strong high-rise building cannot be built on a weak foundation. Subjects taught by Applied Sciences and Humanities Department are the foundation of all engineering courses. These subjects play a vital role in engineering education and make the students receptive of engineering subjects related with various disciplines.
The ASH department promotes implementation of practical aspects of various basic science and humanities subjects by highly qualified and experienced faculty members with well-equipped laboratories to build a solid foundation as part of the Engineering Education.
Mathematics is indispensable for the engineering community. Students use mathematics to understand and solve engineering problems.
Physics is crucial to the understanding of the world around us. Physics encompasses the study of the universe from the largest galaxies to the smallest subatomic particles. Physics is the basis of many engineering courses. The department of physics offers Engineering Physics courses to all engineering programs in semester 1 and 2.
The English Communication skills laboratory is an integral part of the department. Students receive training in written and verbal communication essential to succeed in the work place.
It is well said by ThoHarmann, William Scott “Management is a social and technical process that utilizes resources, influences human action and facilitates changes, in order to accomplish an organization’s goals.”
For B.E.-2 year students need to study management subject for better understanding of humanity and technicality of jobs in industry as well as in life.
Applied Science and Humanity Department strive to provide the opportunity to distinguish the value of science and recognize excellence in education to build their career in engineering to lead life of social cohesion and harmony adopting high values.
A dynamic environment offering premier opportunities to explore discover and achieve.
To inspire the Students for Conceptual Knowledge of core Subjects and enhance their Mental, Physical and independent Problem solving skill to become best in their professional field.
To help students to move forward with a collaborative initiative to achieve all round excellence. To promote knowledge in a rewarding and inspiring research environment.
To develop leadership qualities relevant to the 21st century and beyond.
Through teaching, research, service, and outreach, we provide knowledge, skills, and insight to a world increasingly dependent on science and mathematics and communication skills.
HEAD OF THE DEPARTMENT MESSAGE
Since, The Applied Science & Humanities subjects are the foundation subjects for all the branches of engineering and technology, the vision is to enhance & empower the scientific temperament of the students through the knowledge of core courses of the Applied Sciences & Humanities. The department aims to provide the sound knowledge (both theoretical and practical) on the basis of the basic courses of the Applied Sciences & Humanities which lay the foundation of different branches of engineering and technology. The department offers excellent academic environment with a team of highly qualified faculty members to cater the needs of the students and to inspire them to develop their technical skills which is necessary for them to formulate, solve and analyse engineering problems and prepare for higher studies.
Visualization of an abstract idea or concept, before giving it a form or structure, is an exercise that the department wishes to put to practice, to develop cognitive abilities of young minds. The curriculum basically acts as an interface between science and technology and explores common foundations of language.
The department has highly qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty members with strong commitment to engineering education and professional ethics. Together, we strive to produce technocrats, who can contribute productively to the world of technology.
